Today was spent how I think
all most days should be spent: shopping and eating. Although most of the day was dedicated to picking out some new uniform pieces for my sister: Lu, and a new Autumn update on my brother: Scott’s closet; I got to sneak in some shopping time for moi.
[Today’s outfit of the day included: my Pleated Boater Hat by Forever 21, Vintage Crochet top, Topshop Moto Leigh Jeans [distressed by me], booties by DP, Gold Statement Watch by Sabo Skirt, and my Girls With Swords necklace by Lisa Bevere.]
I fell in love with this Zara Mustard Basic Soft Scarf the moment in caught my eye. I couldn’t resist snapping a quick selfie in the middle of the store. [You can also find this product on my August edition of Loving Lately.]
Later, although we had originally planned on eating at one of our favourite Sushi bars for lunch, the gleaming red-and-fluro lighting caught our eye from a new American Diner that just opened: Ed’s Easy Diner. Let me first start off by saying: Wow! I mean, you guys must know by now that I love America – always have, and always will. So, as you can imagine, when I heard the old 50’s tunes playing out through the juke box, and retro-styled booths clad in red leather [or pleather?], my family and I couldn’t resist.
Root Beer was the first thing to catch my eye whilst studying the menu – I’m definitely deprived of this American delight while living here in Britain.
My Mam started laughing hard at Scott, Lu and I when we were all, unknowingly, glaring at the menu with such intense, it was as if we were cramming hard for a final. After perusing the mouth-watering menu, we were called to choose what we wanted to order [with so many amazing choices on the menu, the decision felt like a life-changing one in itself]. I chose The Blues Burger without the bun [Hamburger smothered in blue cheese, onions, and tomatoes], and a side order of the Atomic American Fries [fries served with jalapeño jelly, chilli, sour cream, cheddar cheese sauce and guacamole on the side]. Coupled alongside my Root Beer, I was in serious food heaven.
To put the cherry on-top of my perfect, All-American-styled day, I indulged my tastebuds in one of Ed’s classic malts. After much deliberation, I finally landed on the chocolate malt; Lucy opted for the Peanut Butter malt, while Scott ordered Ed’s Special Nutella Shake. I’ve got to say; after sampling the Peanut Butter Malt, and the Nutella Shake courtesy of Lucy, and Scott – each were as delicious as the next.
Continuing with the shopping excursion, I scoped out this terrific pair of Vintage Wash ‘Mom’ Jeans in the ever-growing denim section of Topshop. They definitely tick off all of the three C’s: Cute, Comfy and Cosy. Although I didn’t make the purchase today, I just might.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day, beautiful!
